Snowglobe Breakdown (Cyanilux)
Cyanilux
Visit resource ↗Description
Snowglobe Breakdown is a January 2023 Cyanilux post building a Unity 2021.3 LTS URP snowglobe with VFX Graph snow, Shader Graph lit particles, and a glass refraction shader.
VFX uses burst spawn, gravity, turbulence, and inverted Collide with Sphere. Lit Shader Graph supplies VFX-compatible alpha-clipped billboards with locked normals; C# passes Rigidbody velocity into VFX so shaking stirs flakes.
The globe is Unlit transparent with refract custom functions, sphere exit ray math, and reflection probes, approximating water-filled refraction; Sam Driver's sphere article is cited.
For intermediate URP users with Shader Graph and VFX Graph installed.
Free step-by-step screenshots on cyanilux.com for contained particles and readable glass refraction.
