Description

Crystal Shader Breakdown is a Cyanilux URP Shader Graph tutorial (2021, updated 2025) for an unlit transparent crystal with object-space Y gradients, Scene Color refraction, and Fresnel opacity. One free annotated post on cyanilux.com.

Inverse Lerp remaps object Y into a two-colour mesh gradient. View-space normals offset screen UVs into the opaque texture, damped by Fresnel and Refraction Strength; opacity lerps refraction against colour, then Glow scales HDR for bloom. Enable URP Opaque Texture; scene lights in demos are separate from the shader.

For intermediate Unity artists used to Shader Graph and transparency. Crystals are unlit and only show background via Scene Color.

Sections: Colour Gradient, Refraction, Opacity, plus brief noise or vertex-colour edge ideas. Free with graph screenshots.

Often linked in Unity shader circles as a compact stylized-crystal recipe.
