Description

Adobe's reference implementation of the OpenPBR BSDF is an open GitHub repository publishing the OpenPBR 1.1.1 material model extracted from Adobe's Eclair renderer as portable shading code.

It implements nested OpenPBR lobes such as fuzz, coat, and base diffuse/specular with shared evaluate, sample, and PDF entry points, plus prepared volume and coat/fuzz-attenuated emission. The same source targets C++, GLSL, CUDA, MSL, or Slang, with energy-compensation LUTs and homogeneous volume helpers.

It is for advanced path-tracer and material authors who already understand microfacet BSDFs and want a production-grade OpenPBR reference rather than a from-scratch uber-shader.

Access is free under Apache 2.0 via a single-include public API; Adobe positions it as a reference drop-in with best-effort external contributions.

It is useful for validating OpenPBR integrations without reverse-engineering a closed renderer.
