Effect Texture Maker is a browser tool from mebiusbox software that procedurally renders VFX textures with three.js. The public page runs in the browser with no install.
It lists sixty-eight effect templates (explosions, flames, lightning, noise, and similar) with parameters for animation, polar conversion, toon steps, color balance, normal maps, and sprite sheets to 2048 px.
Technical artists and indie developers use it for particle and shader maps; exports are PNG images usable in any engine once alpha or additive setup is chosen.
Workflow: set resolution, choose a template, tune controls, save via Save Image or Save Sprite Sheet. JSON stores presets, not bitmaps. Output is CC0; check third-party shader sources before commercial use.
Discussed on Real-Time VFX and Unity blogs as a free quick-texture option; niche recognition rather than studio-standard pipeline.
