Description

Alan Zucconi's 2015 Unity post opens his Impossible Geometry series on alanzucconi.com. It builds Antichamber-style cubes whose faces seem to show different interiors while all geometry shares one volume.

Stencil masking runs in two steps. Each face uses a StencilMask shader writing a unique Ref at queue Geometry-100; inner props use StencilGeometry with Comp equal so pixels appear only through the matching face. Built-in CG and surface-shader source is included.

Intermediate readers who edit custom shaders are the audience. Zucconi notes the effect stays Euclidean and suits decorative puzzles more than Portal-scale portals.

Numbered steps cover theory, materials, and scene assembly, with downloadable Unity packages. Noisecrime's portal stencil article is cited as inspiration.

The page is widely referenced in Unity stencil tutorials and Antichamber-effect posts by other authors.
