Roystan
Visit resource ↗Description
(roystan.net) is a personal Unity blog whose articles index lists long shader tutorials plus shorter gameplay notes from 2018-2019. Each major tutorial includes a downloadable starter project.
Posts extend HLSL shaders for the Built-in Render Pipeline: a Breath of the Wild-inspired toon lit shader, screen-space outlines through the post-processing stack, tessellated geometry-grass with wind, and stylized water with depth color, waves, and foam.
They target intermediate developers comfortable with C# and shader basics, not Shader Graph. Geometry-grass assumes capable GPUs; URP and HDRP readers must adapt passes themselves.
Content is free on the site with commented starter scenes tied to each article.
These tutorials are frequently linked in Unity graphics communities as clear pre-SRP stepping stones.
