Description

Interactive Computer Graphics is a University of Utah lecture series by Professor Cem Yuksel, published as a free YouTube playlist of roughly twenty-six videos. It mirrors the CS 5610/6610 course on real-time GPU rendering for games and interactive visualization.

Lectures cover the interactive rendering pipeline, OpenGL and GLSL fundamentals, textures, transformations, lighting, shadows, geometry and tessellation shaders, compute shaders, and introductory GPU ray tracing. Assignments are project-heavy; course pages note students may use Direct3D, Vulkan, or Metal instead of OpenGL for projects.

Yuksel is a graphics researcher known for hair rendering and Monte Carlo techniques; the course has received multiple Dean's commendations for teaching excellence. Companion courses include Introduction to Computer Graphics and Ray Tracing for Graphics on the same channel.

Videos are free on YouTube with syllabus and assignment details on graphics.cs.utah.edu for enrolled students. Self-learners can follow the playlist linearly with their own C++ and linear algebra background.

Recommended alongside LearnOpenGL as a structured university-style path into real-time rendering; especially useful for hearing pipeline concepts explained before implementing them in code.
