Terrain Advanced Auto Material - Terrain Shaders - Episode 16
Ben Cloward
Visit resource ↗Description
[video] Terrain Advanced Auto Material - Terrain Shaders - Episode 16 is a Ben Cloward YouTube tutorial that combines prior slope and altitude masks into a full terrain auto material.
It layers flat grass, steep cliff stone, high-altitude snow, and low-altitude mossy grass or dirt from terrain shape rather than hand painting. The session builds the blend in Unreal, then shows the same angle and altitude approach in Unity using Blend Material Attributes with the earlier mask nodes.
It is for intermediate technical artists following the Terrain Shaders playlist who already understand material functions or subgraphs.
The video is free on YouTube, about 45 minutes, as episode 16 with a playlist link for prior episodes.
It is useful for automatic multi-biome terrain shading that updates when you sculpt height without repainting layers.
